North Sea Oil Field
The challenge is to transport oil from the North Sea safely on schedule without spilling.
RULES
The trials worker fills the navigator’s transport container with a specified amount of water to signify a tanker ship taking on crude oil in the North Sea. The water was taken from the farm pond nearby.
The container is a pie or baking pan that is nearly filled with water. The driving path is sloping and bumpy to represent the rough sea.
The team must deliver as much of the oil as possible within the specified time of 30 seconds. The driver travels the designated course while the navigator holds the container (preferably) outside the car.
SCORING
The team delivering the most ounces of water is the winner.
- arrive ahead of schedule: add bonus of 4 ounces
- arrive late: subtract 8 ounces
Ties broken by fastest elapsed time.
